In celebration of the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center’s first anniversary, we hope you will join us for some fun competition at our first April Fools Shoot on Saturday, March 31, 2012. The shoot will take place at the range of the Grand National Quail Hunt Gun Club. Proceeds from the April Fools Shoot will benefit the educational programs of the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center. The event will showcase the heritage of shooting competitions in our region and celebrate America’s firearms heritage. The April Fools Shoot is limited to 80 participants, so mail your registration form in as soon as possible! (A link to the form can be found and printed at the bottom of the page)
The entry fee is: $1,000 per 5-person Company sponsored team or $200 per individual. The fee includes all targets shot in competition, a chuckwagon breakfast, sack lunch, and one (1) admission to the Hunter’s Feast and awards ceremony that evening to be held on the green at the Heritage Center’s Humphrey Heritage Village. Guests for the feast are welcome. The cost is $30 per person. Individual shooters will be placed on teams on a first-come-first-served basis, unless other arrangements have been made.
This is a 100-target shoot of trap and 5-Stand; 3 rounds of trap and 1 round of 5-Stand. Each discipline is scored one point per target. Any gauge shotgun may be used. There is no class distinction, but there are several ways to win:
1. Top Gun will be awarded the top prize for high overall cumulative score.
2. Top Team will be awarded to the team with the high cumulative overall score. You may compete on one team only.
3. Top Discipline Shooter qualifies you to win the top prize for competition in each discipline (Trap or 5-Stand). Prizes will be awarded to the high score in each.
4. Lewis Class prizes will be awarded to Lewis Class A, B, and C (75th, 50th, and 25th percentile overall)
*Each entrant is limited to winning one prize only.
Competition begins at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012, at the range of the Grand National Quail Hunt Gun Club.
- All rules of ATA apply to the April Fools Shoot. Tiebreakers will be determined by the Shoot Committee. All decisions are final.
- Discipline targets once competed on will not be changed except for safety issues with the Shoot Director decision being final.
- No refunds will be given after March 21, 2012. Competition will be held regardless of weather.
- Competitors and spectators assume all risks resulting from accident or loss of property occurring on the grounds of the Grand National Quail Hunt Gun Club.
